AMA TIPS

1. Be sure it is in the best condition possible.
2. Consider new tires.
3. Check Buy & Sell and our AMA guides to prices in the USA and Canada.
4. Touch up the paint and if major work is needed, take it to one of our partner companies to get a low cost AMA price.
5. The private Sales Price is about 1/2 way between the dealer price and the wholesale price.

Trading in your motorcycle can give you a great bargaining tool with the dealer.  It is less of a problem than selling it yourself. Often though, you will get a better price selling it yourself, as long as you have the time with prospective lookers.

One of the best resources to determine value is your local classified ads, where you will see other bikes of similar year, make and model. The "Boat, Bike & RV Trader" and "Buy & Sell" have local editions in convenience stores and gas stations throughout Ontario.
